The does are really the power of the operation. A lot of people over look the potential of what the doe brings to the genetic plate just because of the limited off spring. That is why we believe so much in flushing our does to rapidly progress their genetics. The top part of our heard only consists of about 5 or 6 does and their daughters. We flush from July to November and then breed the does naturally so they still have to prove their mothering ability.
One of the best parts of flushing is Dr. Gary Vannoy from Ozona. If you are going spend long days working with someone, it needs to be a friend, and he is one of the best. He told me once his success rate was 0 - 100% -– and he’s right! When he comes out to the ranch we have our friends and the kids help. Everyone works hard, eats good and has a fun time.
